Reclaiming Your Aloha: Through the Lens of Christianity
You may be surprised to learn that Christianity in the Western world largely bases its theology on the teachings of Paul of Tarsus (also known as the Apostle Paul). However, it is important to note that Paul never met Jesus in person, nor did he receive direct instruction from any of Jesus’ original disciples. Instead, his letters to various churches and individuals—including Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians, Thessalonians, Timothy, Titus, and Philemon—reflect his interpretation of Jesus’ teachings, shaped by his background in traditional Jewish thought.
For Paul, adherence to first-century Jewish law was central, and he worked tirelessly to reconcile this with the radical message of Jesus the Christ. Whether for better or worse, this Pauline perspective became the foundation of Western Christianity—often accepted without question.
Together, we will explore the original teachings of the Aramaic-speaking teacher originally called, Isho (pronounced eee-shoo-wah), but known to us as Jesus the Christ and come to a new understanding of his powerful message.
